The MCO`s Industrial Relations Department has a proud history as a leader in the UNION`s construction industry, which negotiates with grassroots unions. For nearly 100 years, the MCO has negotiated strong and varied employment contracts with core occupations, including the Bricklayers, Local 8; Cement Masons, Local 599, Area 558; Commercial carpenters; Ferriers, Local 8; Workers, premises 113; And the company`s engineers, Local 139. The MCO is the largest collective bargaining unit for several employers in the region, made up of hundreds of union contractors who produce millions of hours of work annually. Any company affiliated with the MCO may receive assistance in labour relations in the event of problems related to picketing or other union organizing efforts.
The strength and relevance of our collective agreements and labour relations are fuelled by our trusting relationships with union contractors and management on the many union management funds.
